It was truly an honour for Flambé to welcome Mel Gibson and members of the Braveheart cast during their visit to Trim to mark the film’s 30th anniversary.
With Trim Castle playing such an important role in the making of Braveheart, the return of the cast brought incredible excitement to the town — and we were delighted that they chose to dine with us during their stay.
Mel Gibson was warm, gracious and a pleasure to speak with, as were the rest of the cast. The atmosphere in Flambé that evening was electric — filled with excitement, pride and celebration.
Much of that wonderful buzz was also thanks to our guests who booked in to be part of the occasion. It was a night that truly captured the spirit of Trim — community, history and hospitality coming together.
A special thank you goes to Mr. Eric Lawlor, whose dedication and organisation helped make this event such a success for Trim town. The scale of work involved in bringing together a celebration of this magnitude deserves recognition, and the entire town benefited from his efforts.
Being located beside Trim Castle makes Flambé part of the story — and welcoming the Braveheart cast back to the town was a moment we will always remember.
We are grateful to have shared such a historic and joyful evening with our guests.
